At Lake Land College, we do offer scholarships to international students, including both athletic and academic scholarships. In order to be eligible for an academic scholarship a student must currently be enrolled in classes at Lake Land.
While Lake Land College does not provide on-campus housing, there is a large apartment complex adjacent to our campus. Many American and international students choose to live there so that they may walk to their classes. Upon arrival at Lake Land, students will be assisted in securing housing.
Lake Land College is a comprehensive community college offering a broad range of programs. Lake Land offers transfer degrees, allowing you to complete your first two years of college-level course work at Lake Land before continuing your education at a four-year college or university. Lake Land also offers certificate programs and degrees, which prepare you to immediately enter the workplace.
Lake Land College holds many advantages over four-year universities, including lower costs, smaller class sizes, and a greater degree of flexibility. For students in one of our many transfer programs, Lake Land provides a specialized, low cost alternative to your first two years of university study.
Lake Land College, located in East Central Illinois, offers the luxury of small town living but with the amenities that often accompany big city life. The college campus is approximately 150 miles south of Chicago, Illinois; 125 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri; and about 100 miles west of Indianapolis, Indiana. You will be able to study in a safe environment AND experience big city life if you choose.
Lake Land College also offers many additional services to our international students, including an in-depth orientation program. During the orientation program, you will learn many things about studying on our campus, ranging from maintaining your status to where to buy your groceries.
Lake Land College is considered to be one of the fastest growing community colleges in Illinois with a current population of more than 7,200 students. At Lake Land, we believe that the most important people at the institution are the students. We strive to introduce new programs and courses that meet the needs of our students and employers. In addition, we welcome the opportunity to implement new technologies in the classroom and to develop innovative methods of preparing our students for the future.
