    Founded in 1901, Dominican University is a beautiful campus conveniently located in a residential community in the Chicago metropolitan area. The university has been consistently ranked in the top tier of mid-western universities published by “US news and World Report”, which evaluates 1400 American universities annually.Dominican University is accredited by the North Central Association and has six major academic units. These are the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business, the School of Education, the Graduate School of Library & Information Sciences, the Graduate School of Social Work and the Institute for Adult Learning.The university enjoys a century-long tradition of academic excellence, where students and faculty can dedicate themselves to intellectual development in an environment that espouses value-based education. Preparing professionals for global business is a responsibility we take seriously at Dominican and since our very beginning have welcomed international students to our campus for study as well as facilitating study abroad tours in 14 different countries.We have recognized that our programs and curricula must be grounded in solid academic theory, research and practitioner experiences. Yet we remain flexible and demonstrate an ability to change as the times and climate demand.International students have always been an integral part of our graduate business programs. There is a particular enthusiasm on our campus for international students and an appreciation for their strong academic preparation.Academic scholarships are available to students with outstanding academic records and strong test scores. 94% of our under-graduate freshman students receive scholarships. Academic and career advising are provided to students in all degree programs. The university offers state-of-the-art library resources as well as an impressive technology center.


    TOEFL scores and ESL Programs (English as a Second Language)

    Yes, TOEFL is required for admission. The Brennan School of Business also accepts the IELTS score. Minimum for TOEFL is 213 computer based, or 79 internet based; Minimum for IELTS is 6.0. If a student successfully completes Level 112 at the English Language Center, the TOEFL requirement is waived.
