The College of Lake County offers a scholarship to international students after they have completed at least one academic semester at The College of Lake County.
The College of Lake County has many options for students to live in nearby furnished or unfurnished apartments. Also, there is a fully furnished Extended Stay option with private shuttle to campus every day. Fees include all furnishings, satellite tv, fitness center access, wireless internet and more!

The College of Lake County is a public, two-year, community college located in Grayslake, Illinois. A very safe suburban campus located 1 hour from Chicago, the 3rd largest city in the U.S.
The College of Lake County offers more than 60 degree programs through which students may earn an associates degrees and then transfer to university through the IAI or 2+2 transfer program. International students may also enroll in the English as a Second Language program which offers beginner to advanced courses and use of the state-of-the-art language lab.
Students at the College of Lake County benefit from a variety of student services including academic advising, career planning, counseling, health services, tutoring, student activities and more!
International students will receive full-service when they arrive to CLC such as free airport pick-up, housing assistance, grocery shopping, and a special orientation just for international students!
TOEFL: No TOEFL is required. CLC has their own testing center on campus. If students have a TOEFL score, we will accept it. However, it is not required for enrollment at CLC. Minimum TOEFL is 71 (internet based).
ESL:
Yes, intensive courses in English as a Second Language are available to students who want to improve their English language proficiency for future academic and professional goals in the U.S.
Classes focus on developing the student’s reading, composition, verbal, and listening comprehension abilities. Upon enrollment, language proficiency test is administered to determine the student’s placement: beginner, intermediate, advanced, or transitional.
There is a state of the art language lab for student use.
We accept IELTS 6.0 academic format to prove English proficiency.
