      Millikin offers international students an array of scholasrhip opportunities.

      All students are automatically considered for an academic merit scholarship upon admission to the University.

      Our safe and beautiful 70-acre suburban campus offers several housing options including traditional residence halls and an apartment-style complex.  

      As an international student, you will be welcome in the International Citizen Living and Learning Community and will have a chance to interact with students from all over the world as well as with American students.  You will share your room with an American student willing to know more about your culture and who will help you to become part of the Millikin community. 

      You'll enjoy living with American students in our residence Halls or in The Woods at Millikin Apartment Complex. These luxury apartments are completely furnished and feature four individual bedrooms as well as a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator and stove.        The campus dining hall provides several meal options throughout the day and the campus snack is also available to meet your needs around the busy schedules of students living in the residence halls. Students can also use their Dining "flex dollars" on campus and near campus at C3 Express, Einstein Bagels, Subway, and Domino's Pizza. For students choosing to live in the campus apartments, full kitchens in each unit are an added luxury.

      The Millikin University English Language Center (ELC) offers three different programs for students who wish to improve their English language skills.

      • English for Transition/Conditional Admission  

      This program is for degree-seeking students who have applied and been conditionally admitted to Millikin University but who need to improve their English before studying full-time in classes that count towards a Millikin degree. The Transition/Conditional Admission program is a 4-level transition program.  


      Placement & Levels
      Based on English proficiency test scores and a Skype interview, international students are placed into an appropriate course level for language instruction: 
      Level 1: Foundations
      Level 2: Intermediate 1
      Level 3: Intermediate 2 *Students at this level begin earning Millikin degree credits and take ELC classes
      Level 4: Millikin Bridge *Students at this level begin earning Millikin degree credits and take ELC classes

      Each level is a 16-week semester (fall or spring) with 20 hours of weekly instruction. Students enroll full-time in a Millikin bachelor's degree program once they have successfully completed Level4.


      • Intensive English Program  

      The Intensive English Program is a semester-based program of intensive English instruction for students who wish to improve their English language speaking and writing skills. Participants earn a certificate of completion, but no credits. A high school diploma or certificate is required to participate.


      • Summer English Language Program

      The Summer English Language Program is held for four-weeks during the month of July. The Program is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn English and travel to discover many unique sites in Decatur and the Midwestern part of the United States. Participants earn a certificate of completion, but no credits. A high school diploma or certificate is required to participate. 

      Undergraduate Admission:
      No other tests are required for international students.


      Graduate Admission:
      Millikin requires a GRE or GMAT test score to be considered for admission.

      Fall Semester: June 1st
